Journal of Urban Research is an Open Access peer-reviewed journal specializing in all areas of architecture, urban design, urban planning, housing, infrastructure planning, environmental planning, landscape architecture and planning, regional development and planning, historic conservation and preservation, urban area upgrading, regional and urban strategies, and policies, etc.". Established and founded by Cairo University, Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning, and co-publishing with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) starting in 2021. With this journal, the university hopes to promote excellence in the field of Urban Planning through the dissemination of exceptional research produced by regional and international researchers and scientific practitioners.

Journal of Urban Research is published quarterly, the journal comprises original research articles, and review articles.

The articles are openly available in PDF, and XML formats, and metadata are semantically enriched HTML for a better reading experience. Thus, the journal’s content is easy to navigate to make it as easy to discover, access, reuse and cite as possible.
